As you probably know, Rocky Patel is well-versed at late nights and partying with us common folk. Therefore, it was only natural
for him to host the opening party to kick-start the monster herf that is CigarFest.
The event was held at Benchwarmers, an indoor/outdoor bar and restaurant just minutes from the CigarFest floor. A huge line of excited enthusiasts wrapped around the building, ready to partake in the debauchery that would surely ensue. And then, without warning, the doors opened just after Rocky put on his shiny dancing shoes. Free Rocky Patel cigars and an open bar was the theme for the night, and I wonderful combination I might add. A live band belted out tunes we all know and love, and even allowed Rocky himself to join them on the drums for the growing crowd inside. Outside, well over a hundred more cigar faithfuls cast an Olde World Reserve-induced smoke cloud over Lake Harmony…creating a beautiful sight, let alone an amazing aroma. The mood was amazing, and it was easy to see how eager each attendee was the main event to begin, yet wishing the night could go on for days. In true Rocky Patel fashion, the party was an event to remember from the get-go, reuniting old friends and familiar faces and introducing countless others to new cigar-loving brothers and sisters. And considering the volume of enthusiasts on the dance floor, it's safe to say everyone had plenty of cold, adult beverages throughout the evening. Naturally, the Rocky Patel Opening Party was great fun for everyone in attendance, and helped set the stage for CigarFest, the herf to end all herfs.
